On August 5th, 2022, Heche was critically injured in a high-speed car crash where she crashed in someone’s house in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The car and house went on fire, causing her to experience smoke inhalation, thermal burns, and an anoxic brain injury, which led to her death at a Los Angeles hospital on August 11th, 2022, at the age of 53.
